My family is multi-cultural – Trinidadian, Italian, Puerto Rican – but this story is about my Italian-American grandmother.

Memories of visiting my grandmother as a child center around the pastries she would order from her local bakery. In adulthood I now understand how special that was, to have fresh, gourmet baked goods from a local baker. My grandmother passed down her Italian heritage through food. As I transitioned to a vegan diet I dreamed of those goodies from my childhood, but struggled to find local establishments with vegan pastries that prioritized taste. So I started to make them myself.

One day, when I baked cornetti for a friend’s engagement party, a guest came up to me and said “you should do this for a living!” . So after years of baking for friends and family I have decided to expand! Now you can order delectable baked goods that are both compassionate towards animals and a treat for yourself.

I use the finest quality ingredients – organic cane sugars, enriched flours, fresh fruit and nuts – because a lesson I learned in Italy was that a meal as simple as a tomato sprinkled with a bit of salt can be exquisite if you start with a good tomato.

Last summer I was able to visit my grandmother again and make her my hazelnut-chocolate cornetti. She ate two. ♥️
